About the Practice
Welcome.
At Centered Compass Counseling, I believe healing isn’t about becoming someone new — it’s about returning to the self that’s always been within you.
My role is to walk beside you as you navigate life’s challenges, helping you find direction, balance, and connection along the way. Through a grounded and compassionate approach, we’ll deepen understanding of what has shaped your journey — creating space for growth, self-compassion, and peace.
Whether you’re working through anxiety, healing from trauma, or moving through seasons of change, this is a space to pause, reflect, and realign with your true center.
Side by side, we’ll support your journey back to center — one step, one breath, one moment at a time..
Meet the Compass Behind the Work
Megan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who believes that human connection is at the heart of healing. Megan brings warmth, compassion, and authenticity into every session, with the goal of helping clients feel truly seen and supported. Megan’s clinical background includes extensive training and experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and previous experience as the lead therapist at Thrive Wellness’s perinatal Intensive Outpatient Program, It Takes A Village.
Megan has experience treating mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma and stressor related disorders, substance use disorders, and severe mental illness. Megan also has experience providing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy for individuals navigating OCD and anxiety disorders.
Megan’s approach is person-centered and flexible, drawing from DBT, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), internal family systems therapy (IFS), mindfulness techniques, solution-focused therapy, and psychodynamic perspectives. At the core of Megan’s work is the belief that clients are the experts of their own lives, and with the support of a strong therapeutic alliance, can cultivate resilience and create fulfilling, balanced lives. Megan values human connection above all else and views the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of meaningful change. Building trust, rapport, and safety from the very beginning is at the heart of her work.
Outside of the therapy room, Megan enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, young son, and their dog, as well as with family and friends. Music and singing are lifelong passions of hers, and she also loves adventuring, shopping, trying new cuisine, listening to live music, being spontaneous, and crystals. A Halloween enthusiast at heart, she has a special love for horror movies and all things spooky.

Centered Compass Counseling is a safe, affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals. Here, you are welcomed as your authentic self, with compassion, understanding, and respect. I provide gender-affirming care for clients exploring or living their gender identity.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
At Centered Compass Counseling, I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a skills-based, evidence-informed approach designed to help individuals manage intense emotions, reduce self-destructive behaviors, and improve relationships. DBT provides practical tools for building mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and effective interpersonal skills. In a compassionate and supportive space, I work with clients to apply these skills in their daily lives, fostering resilience, self-compassion, and a greater sense of balance.
Perinatal Mental Health
At Centered Compass Counseling, I specialize in supporting birthing persons through the emotional and mental health challenges that can arise during pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. This includes perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, postpartum depression, and the unique stresses that come with adjusting to life with a new baby. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to process these experiences, normalize the ups and downs of the perinatal period, and develop tools for coping, self-compassion, and resilience. My goal is to help birthing persons feel seen, supported, and empowered as they navigate this transformative time.
Trauma-Focused Therapy
At Centered Compass Counseling, I specialize in trauma-focused therapy, providing a safe and supportive space for individuals who have experienced trauma of any kind. Using evidence-based approaches, I help clients process and integrate difficult experiences, build resilience, and reclaim a sense of safety and empowerment in their lives. Together, we work to understand the impact of trauma on thoughts, emotions, and relationships, while fostering healing, self-compassion, and personal growth. My goal is to guide clients toward reclaiming their strength and finding balance, stability, and a renewed sense of agency.
OCD Treatment & Exposure and Response Prevention
At Centered Compass Counseling, I specialize in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) using evidence-based approaches, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). ERP is a structured, proven method that helps clients gradually face distressing thoughts and situations while reducing compulsive behaviors, fostering lasting relief and increased confidence. In a compassionate and supportive space, I work closely with clients to tailor treatment to their unique experiences, helping them regain control, reduce anxiety, and improve daily functioning.
